My Priorities

Westhoughton is a busy and vibrant community and there are lots of ways we could improve our quality of life here. I believe it is important that our candidates and elected representatives are able to prioritise good, tangible policies that are measurable and not just soundbites.

01

Increase Local Democracy

  • Hold regular meetings. To make local politics more accessible to residents, councillors work for local people, not themselves.

  • Conduct resident surveys.

  • Increase regular canvassing. To make sure the priorities of local residents are up to date and taken into account.

  • Hold public consultations on local issues so that local residents have their say on local decision-making.

02

Prioritise Young People and Families

  • Fight for the provision of youth activities. Working with local businesses and organisations as well as the town council and Bolton council.

  • Fight to regenerate our parks and community green spaces. So that children and families can enjoy safe and fun equipment in our parks.

  • Push for new and improved initiatives to tackle antisocial behaviour (ASB) at its source. Working with local police, the town council, Bolton council and partner agencies.

Protect and Develop Our Green Spaces

  • Strongly oppose and campaign againt any proposed developements that destroy our local green spaces.

  • Look into measures that can improve our local green spaces so that they are more accessible and enjoyable for all residents. Working with the town council, Bolton council and other organisations.
